Am I covered?
Pick the closest situation. This is a guide to the scope of cover, not a decision on a claim.
What is the treatment?

Usually in scope
Usually in scope. A surgical procedure at a registered hospital, day clinic, unattached theatre or step-down facility, and the care during that admission.
This is a summary only. The policy wording governs. Cover is for South Africa. Patient Cover is not a medical scheme.
Why trust it
An independent clinical assessor obtains the records and rates the injury. nownow never rates a claim itself.
The amount depends only on the rating. Nothing is negotiated case by case.
If claims in a year are under a quarter of premium, half the gap goes back to members as higher cover or a lower premium. The benefit ratio is published here every year.
We never ask who was at fault. The question is whether a procedure caused a permanent injury, and an independent assessor answers it.
